Khanthal engagements overview

Three engagements, each shaped for a different depth of work.

Each engagement is distinct in scope and price. They can be taken separately or, where it makes sense, in sequence. The choice depends on where your organisation is in its thinking.

Our approach to every engagement

Every engagement at Khanthal follows the same underlying structure: we begin with a conversation to understand your question, we work through a careful reading and analysis period, and we conclude with a written document your team can keep and reference. The three engagements differ in depth and duration, but not in the quality of attention they receive.

We do not begin work without a signed scope agreement. We do not hold working sessions without a written record. We do not close an engagement without a written conclusion. These are the standards we apply regardless of engagement size.

Opening conversation

We begin every engagement with a structured conversation to understand your question, your team, and your context.

Scope agreement

A written agreement is signed before work begins. This sets out scope, deliverables, and the fee. Nothing is added without agreement.

Working sessions

Sessions are held on schedule, recorded in writing, and shared with your team within two working days of each session.

Written conclusion

Every engagement concludes with the main deliverable document — the written frame, the pilot record, or the quarterly reflection. This is yours to keep.

Engagement 01

Working Frame

RM 1,140 · Two to three weeks

A short engagement in which Khanthal helps your team set the working frame around a question you are considering for an applied AI model. The engagement begins with a structured conversation, continues with a careful reading of the materials you share, and concludes with a written frame document setting out what is known, what is uncertain, and what would be reasonable to attempt.

The frame is offered for your team's own deliberation — not as a directive about what to do, but as a clear orientation of the landscape before you. Teams that complete a Working Frame typically describe arriving at a much sharper sense of what question they are actually asking.

What the engagement includes

  • Opening conversation (90 minutes)
  • Reading and review of materials you provide
  • Working Frame document delivered in writing
  • Closing session to walk through the frame (60 minutes)
  • Written record of both sessions

Working Frame engagement

Best suited for

Organisations that have heard about AI applications in their sector and want to think through whether and how the question applies to their specific context — before committing to any vendor or system.

Loom Pilot engagement

Best suited for

Organisations that have a specific applied AI question and want to build and examine a working prototype as a piece of learning — not as a step toward immediate deployment.

Engagement 02

Loom Pilot

RM 2,940 · Six to eight weeks

A small pilot in which Khanthal and your team weave together a working prototype around a single applied question. The pilot is conducted in close conversation, with weekly working sessions and a written record at each stage. At the close, you hold a documented piece of learning about what the prototype revealed — including what it revealed that you did not anticipate.

The Loom Pilot is not designed to produce a deployment-ready system. It is designed to help your team understand what a working prototype reveals about the original question, before any decision is made about whether and how to proceed further.

What the engagement includes

  • Opening framing session (90 minutes)
  • Weekly working sessions throughout the pilot (60 minutes each)
  • Written record after each session
  • Working prototype (not deployment-ready)
  • Pilot conclusion document with learning summary

Engagement 03

Continuous Counsel

RM 4,610 · Twelve-month retained arrangement

A retained counsel arrangement supporting your in-house team across a twelve-month period. The counsel attends a monthly working session, offers written reflection at quarterly intervals, and remains reachable across the year for shorter conversations of a technical or governance nature.

The Continuous Counsel takes no operational role. Its place is the steady company of an outside reader — present when your team needs a considered external perspective, and not present in your systems or decisions at any other time.

What the arrangement includes

  • Monthly working session (60–90 minutes)
  • Written quarterly reflections (four per year)
  • Availability for shorter conversations throughout the year
  • Written record of all monthly sessions
  • Annual closing reflection document

Quarterly invoicing available on request.

Continuous Counsel arrangement

Best suited for

Organisations that have already begun working with AI systems and want a steady, independent outside perspective available across the year — particularly for teams navigating governance questions or managing an in-house AI capability.

Standards shared across all engagements

These apply regardless of which engagement you choose.

Data confidentiality

All materials shared during an engagement are covered by a written confidentiality arrangement. We do not retain them beyond the engagement period.

Written scope before start

Every engagement begins with a signed scope document. We do not begin work before this is in place, and we do not add scope without your agreement.

No vendor affiliations

Khanthal holds no equity in any AI vendor and receives no referral fees. Our counsel is independent of commercial relationships with technology providers.

No operational access

We do not request or hold access to client systems, data infrastructure, or production environments at any stage of any engagement.

Response within two working days

We respond to all messages within two working days throughout an engagement. We hold this standard consistently, not just at the start of a new relationship.

Deliverables on schedule

Written deliverables are provided on the date specified in the scope agreement. If a date changes, we give notice and agree a new date in writing before it passes.

Transparent fees

These are the fees as published. There are no additional charges within the scope of each engagement.
