Applied AI work

Careful thinking about
applied AI, together.

Khanthal works alongside organisations in Malaysia to frame, pilot, and sustain AI questions thoughtfully. We sit with your team, not above it.

Three Engagements

Each engagement is designed around a different depth of involvement. They can be taken separately or in sequence, depending on where your organisation is in its thinking.

Working Frame engagement

Working Frame

A short engagement that helps your team set the working frame around an AI question you are considering. We begin with conversation, read the available materials, and conclude with a written frame — not a directive, but a careful orientation of what is known, uncertain, and reasonable to attempt.

  • Written frame document delivered
  • Structured around your materials
  • Offered for your own deliberation
RM 1,140 Enquire
Loom Pilot engagement

Loom Pilot

A small pilot in which we weave together a working prototype around a single applied question. Conducted in close conversation, with weekly working sessions and a written record at each stage. The pilot is not deployed to live operations — it is a piece of careful learning from which your team may consider next steps.

  • Weekly working sessions included
  • Written record at each stage
  • Learning-first, not deployment-first
RM 2,940 Enquire
Continuous Counsel engagement

Continuous Counsel

A retained arrangement across twelve months, supporting your in-house team with a monthly working session, written reflections at quarterly intervals, and availability for shorter technical or governance conversations throughout the year. The counsel takes no operational role — it is the steady company of an outside reader.

  • Monthly working session
  • Quarterly written reflections
  • Year-round availability for short calls
RM 4,610 Enquire

How We Work

Our approach is shaped by the belief that good AI work begins with good questions, not fast answers. These are some of the principles that guide each engagement.

Structured Thinking

Each engagement follows a clear written structure. You receive materials you can read, revisit, and share within your organisation at your own pace.

Collaborative Pace

We move at the pace of your team's capacity for careful thought. There is no pressure to adopt a position before you are ready to hold it.

Governance Awareness

Applied AI questions carry governance dimensions. We keep those considerations present throughout the engagement without reducing everything to compliance.

Written Over Verbal

We favour written deliverables over slide decks. A written frame or reflection can be read carefully, annotated, and returned to in ways that a presentation cannot.

No Operational Role

Khanthal holds the advisory position only. We do not sit in your data stack or hold access to your systems. The work remains yours from the first session to the last.

Malaysia Context

Our work is grounded in the Malaysian and regional context — the regulatory landscape, the industry mix, and the practical conditions in which local organisations operate.

Is there a question your team has been holding?

We are available for an initial conversation at no charge. Send us a brief note and we will arrange a time that works for your team.

Questions We Hear Often

These are questions that organisations often bring before starting an engagement. We hope they are useful.

What kind of organisations do you work with?

We work with organisations across sectors in Malaysia — in financial services, professional services, education, and public administration. The common thread is a team that has a real AI question and wants to think through it carefully, rather than adopt a product without understanding what they are taking on.

Do we need technical staff on our side to engage with you?

No. The engagements are designed to work with a mixed team that includes both technical and non-technical members. Part of what we do is help the two sides of a team understand each other's concerns clearly. A team of ten managers with no data scientists is a reasonable starting point.

How long does a Working Frame take?

A Working Frame typically runs across two to three weeks. It involves an opening conversation, a period in which we read and review the materials you share, and a closing session in which we walk through the written frame together. The total time commitment from your team is usually four to six hours.

What is the difference between the Loom Pilot and a standard proof of concept?

A conventional proof of concept is often shaped around demonstrating that something works well enough to deploy. The Loom Pilot is shaped around learning — it is designed to help your team understand what a working prototype reveals about the original question, including what it reveals that you did not expect. The pilot is not offered as a deployment-ready output.

How do the fees work? Are there payment arrangements available?

The fees listed (RM 1,140 for Working Frame, RM 2,940 for Loom Pilot, RM 4,610 per year for Continuous Counsel) are the standard rates. For the Continuous Counsel arrangement, we are generally willing to discuss quarterly invoicing. For the shorter engagements, payment is typically made at engagement start. Please ask if your organisation has particular procurement requirements and we will see what we can arrange.

Do you hold any of our data after an engagement concludes?

We retain only what is needed to deliver the written materials. Organisational documents shared during the engagement are handled with care and are not retained beyond what is necessary. We are happy to discuss specific data handling arrangements before an engagement begins. Our full data handling commitment is described in our Privacy Policy.
